Educa 2020 – Well-being in education, work and life

An extensive exhibition area for sector products and services as well as a high-quality seminar programme will provide a comprehensive review of what’s happening in education and what the professionals are talking about right now. The day-to-day work of teachers will be at the heart of the event. The extensive exhibition will showcase the latest educational tools and technical solutions. The event is visited by over 18,000 teaching professionals every year.

This year Educa is also expanding with international programme. The international programme will be held in English and it is aimed at international training and education sector professionals on EQUITY stage. Make sure you see the interesting Opening panel of the event on Visio stage on Friday. The panel is about How to Tackle Climate Change in Education.

How to Tackle Climate Change in Education

The panel will discuss the role of education and schools in the debate on climate change. How to give hope and believe in the future amidst the climate anxiety? How can schools and kindergartens deal with climate change without creating unnecessary stressful fear?

Speakers will include e.g. Minister of Education, Li Andersson, Director General of the Finnish National Agency for Education, Olli-Pekka Heinonen and President of the Trade Union of Education in Finland Olli Luukkainen.

Seeking solutions to the global learning crisis

More than half of the world’s children and adolescents are not learning the basic skills in reading, writing or mathematics. Additionally, at least 750 million young people and adults still cannot read and write. This global learning crisis hinders the prosperity of entire nations. Countries can only be as strong as their human capital. What solutions, policies, practices and innovations are needed to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all?

Familiarization visits

Prior to the start of the exhibition program on Friday, January 24, there will be familiarization visits to various educational institutions. This opportunity is organized by the City of Helsinki and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences.
